Cadboro bay a.k.a. Caddy Bay as the cool kids say, is a beautiful seaside community in Saanich East. It boarders Uplands, which leads into Oak bay, on one side and Queenswood and Ten Mile Point on the other. While the homes in Cadboro bay are mostly single-family residential, there are modern townhomes and low rise condos as well on Penrhyn Street.

 

 

Schools And Education

The catchment areas for education in Cadboro Bay are Frank Hobbs Elementary School (Kindergarten-Grade 5), Arbutus Middle School (Grades 6-8), and Mount Doug High School (Grades 9-12).

 

There are options for independent and private schools such as St. Michaels University School, Glenlyon Norfolk School, St. Patrick’s School, and St. Andrews Regional High School that are not too far away. However, these school campuses are not necessarily within walking distance.

 

The University of Victoria is just up Sinclair hill (easier said than done). The proximity of the campus and the influx of students brings a youthful energy to the area. While there are many on-campus accommodations, it is common for students to rent rooms or houses nearby during their studies.

 

 

Activities

There’s no shortage of outdoor activities to do in Cadboro bay, especially in the spring and summer. Many people will gather at Cadboro-Gyro beach to catch up with friends or take part in activities such as paddle boarding and kayaking. For those looking for some time on the green, Upland’s golf course is just a few minutes away on Cadboro Bay Road.

 

 

Amenities And Activities

While a car or bike may be necessary when living in Cadboro Bay, there are still many amenities within walking distance. In the Village, you will find many popular businesses. Such as Pepper’s, an award-winning locally-owned grocery store, Heart Pharmacy, Bliss boutique spa, restaurants, and Starbucks (I can’t resist a coconut milk latte!).
